“TAXIS FROM AROUND THE WORLD” EXHIBITION

There’s less than a month to go before the 2008 Paris Motor Show, where you can check out the exhibition on “Taxis from around the world” in Paris, Porte de Versailles, from 4 to 19 October. Hall 8.

40 taxis from 20 cities from all over the planet: the exhibition is primarily a taxi ride around the world, as well as a three-way trip through time, since in this all-original exhibition, the taxis on show will illustrate the past, present and even the future.

Historical exhibits include the Renault AG 1913, better known in France as the “Taxi de la Marne”, the present is illustrated by the eco-friendly Mercedes-Benz Bluetec Taxi G7 while the PSA project Peugeot Expert Taxi of the Future, equipped with multimedia in collaboration with Orange, shows the way of the future. The meter is running!

We start out in London, comfortably ensconced in an Austin FX4 London Cab with Big Ben chiming through the pea-soup fog, then we’re warmed by the sun in Mexico in a Volkswagen Beetle, we go for a romantic ride in a Gaz Volga in Saint Petersburg, we weave through the chock-a-block roads of Bangkok in a tuk tuk, we visit New York in a yellow Checker V8 taxi to the sound of horns and sirens, we’re Zen in Tokyo in a Toyota Crown.
We live the Dolce Vita in a Fiat multipla in Rome, visit Berlin and the Brandenburg gate in an Opel Käpîtan, and so on.

Of automobiles and men: portrait galleries, interiors, ambiances, accessories, meters, collections of miniatures, books and catalogues.

Have a good trip!

We would like to thank the French Ministry of Tourism, ACF, FFVE, FIVA, the Technikmuseum in Berlin, Eurotaximedias, Meguiar’s, PG Medias, Taxis G7, Taxi mag and Vivolta.
